The country's MSME sector accounts for a significant share of GDP and employment, yet MSMEs continue to face substantial financing gaps, particularly for investments that support environmental sustainability.Financial institutions in Thailand are increasingly seeking to develop green and sustainable lending products. However, the key challenges remain - identifying the most commercially viable entry points within the MSME segment, understanding the ecosystem dynamics that can enable scale, and profiling the anchor companies and value chains through which green finance can be efficiently channeled.To address this gap, IFC is seeking to commission a market scoping study that will provide a rigorous, evidence-based assessment of sustainable finance opportunities with MSMEs in Thailand, with a particular focus on green lending. The findings will serve as a practical resource for financial institutions seeking to develop or expand green MSME lending products.
